London calling

Crystal PalaceBeing in London does make me think about being here for the Olympics in 2012. It would be great to be part of the build-up which you can already sense around different parts of the town.

Arriving at Crystal Palace yesterday was again like arriving at a State of Origin match in Australia. The crowd just buzzes with enthusiasm. I think it is possible to recreate that in Australia but it requires some thinking outside the box and trying new things without disturbing the true meaning of athletics.

Richie and I had a brainstorming session last night about what would be possible and have some good ideas, so perhaps that will become a little side project for us in the coming months.

Tristasn is missing from teh 400m hurdles field for London so not sure what happened there? Tristan? You there? Which reminds me of BJ’s selection in the 400m hurdles for Berlin,. How good! Going back to where it all started back in early June.

Great chance to fulfil that potential to go under 49s!

Hanging out with Carmen in London was just like old times at Campbell Street Toowong where the two of us and Bin lived for a year. Seems so long ago though.

Haven’t really had much of a chance or really the desire to chck out too much of London, Still been crook with a cold – no swine flu though – so havent really been up to anything except what was planned (ie report on the London meet and catch up with some old friends)
